Classical Tamil Literature - A Brief Introduction

Tamil has been declared a classical language by the government of India... S. Kumana Rajan has rightly taken upon himself the onerous task of introducing the classical literary gems of Tamil, like Tholkappiyam, Ettuthogai, Pathupaattu, Pathinen keezh Kanakku, Irayanar Akapporul, Silapathikaram and Manimekalai, to the English-reading public. He has eminently succeeded in this venture and I am sure his book will get the recognition it richly deserves.
