Walden

"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth" First published as Walden; or Life in the Woods, Walden is a beautiful paean to simplicity and solitude, amongst natural surroundings. Five years prior to the book, the noted transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau had moved into a cabin he built by Walden Pond. Over the course of two years, Thoreau experimented with the idea of living a life of solitude in the woods, detaching himself from the pleasures of social life and finally penning down his learnings in this book.
